Abstract: THIS VOLUNTARY REGULATION ALLOWS MANUFACTURERS TO MARKET TEST FOODS TO GATHER DATA FOR THE PURPOSE OF AMENDING FOOD STANDARDS. IT ALLOWS FOR POTENTIAL TECHNOLOGICAL ADVANCES AND ECONOMIC SAVINGS WHILE ASSURING PRODUCT SAFETY AND IS IN THE INTEREST OF CONSUMERS.
