Abstract: THIS PART ESTABLISHES THE MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS FOR DESIGNATING AREAS AS UNSUITABLE FOR ALL OR CERTAIN TYPES OF SURFACE COAL MINING OPERATIONS. THE INFORMATION REQUESTED WI AID THE REGULATORY AUTHORITY IN THE DECISION PROCESS TO APPROVE OR DISAPPROVE A REQUEST TO DESIGNATE OR TERMINATE AND AREA. THIS INFORMATION WILL ALSO BE USED TO MAINTAIN THE DATA BASE AND INVENTORY SYSTEM.
