Abstract: THE REGULATION ALLOWS STATES TO EXCLUDE SPECIFIC CODES FROM THE DIAGNOSIS AND TRAUMA CODE EDITS IF THE STATES SUBMIT DOCUMENTATION TO HCFA TO SUBSTANTIATE EXLUSION. THE REGULATION ALSO IMPOSES SOME PROVIDER REQUIREMENTS. THE STATE IS REQUIRED TO MONITOR PROVIDER COMPLIANCE.
