THIS REGULATION REQUIRES EMPLOYERS TO TRAIN EMPLOYEES ABOUT THE HAZARD OF ASBESTOS, TO MONITOR EMPLOYEE EXPOSURE, TO PROVIDE MEDICAL SURVEILLANCE, AND TO ESTABLISH AND MAINTAIN ACCURATE RECORDS OF EMPLOY EXPOSURE TO ASBESTOS. THE STANDARD APPLIES TO EMPLOYERS IN GENERAL INDUSTRIES AS DEFINED IN 29 CFR 1910.1001.
