Abstract: TITLE 46 CFR 148 REQUIRES THAT SHIPPING PAPERS AND A DANGEROUS CARGO MANIFEST AND SHIPPING PAPERS BE PREPARED FOR AND ACCOMPANY ALL SHIPMENTS OF BULK SOLID HAZARDOUS MATERIALS. IN ADDITION, THE SHIPPER OR MANUFACTURER MUST PETITION THE COAST GUARD FOR A SPECIAL PERMIT TO TRANSPORT ANY BULK SOLID HAZARDOUS MATERIAL NOT LISTED IN PART 148.
