Abstract: EPA'S VOLUNTARY REDUCED-RISK PESTICIDES INITIATIVE IS DESIGNED TO ENCOURAGE THE DEVELOPMENT AND REGISTRATION OF LOWER RISK PESTICIDE PRODUCTS BY AWARDING THEM PRIORITY STATUS IN THE AGENCY'S SCHEDULING OF REVIEWS. APPLICANTS SEEKING REGISTRATION OF A NEW ACTIVE INGREDIEN ARE INVITED TO PROVIDE WRITTEN RATIONALE ON WHY THEIR PESTICIDE MAY QUALIFY FOR SPECIAL TREATMENT UNDER THIS PROGRAM. EPA WILL USE THIS
