Abstract: THE FRUIT AND VEGETABLE DIVISION'S MARKET SURVEYS PROVIDE AN INFORMAL METHOD OF INFORMATION COLLECTION TO PREPARE THE PROPOSED RULE FOR REVISIONS OF U.S. GRADE STANDARDS. U.S. STANDARDS FOR GRADES OF FRESH AND PROCESSED FRUITS AND VEGETABLES PROVIDE A COMMON TRADING LANGUAGE FOR AFFECTED PUBLIC, GROWERS, PACKERS/SHIPPERS, PROCESSORS, WHOLESALER RETAILERS, AND OTHER FINANCIALLY INTERESTED PARTIES.
