We have approved
this one-time survey of school health policies and programs at the
state, district, and local levels. While these data will be useful
in providing background on the current state of such policies and
programs, they should not be used for Federal policymakin purposes
without complementary outcome data such as actual levels of student
fitness, drug use, dietary intake, etc. Policies and programs
themselves will not be the sole indicators of the need for more
Federa involvement in these issues.
