Abstract: UNDER 46 U.S.C. 4310 MANUFACTURERS OF BOATS AND ASSOCIATED EQUIPMENT MUST PROVIDE INFORMATION TO THE COMMANDANT WHEN THEIR PRODUCTS CONTAIN A DEFECT WHICH CREATES A SUBSTANTIAL RISK OF PERSONAL INJURY TO THE PUBLIC OR FAIL TO COMPLY WITH THE APPLICABLE REGULATIONS. THE COAST GUARD USES THE CG-4917 AND CG-4918 TO COLLECT THE INFORMATION.
