PUBLIC LAW 101-382 PROHIBITS A PERSON
FROM PURCHASING FEDERAL TIMBER FROM THE UNITED STATES IF THAT
PERSON HAS EXPORTED TIMBER FROM PRIVATE LAND WITHIN THE PRECEDING
24 MONTHS. THE LAW PROVIDES FOR EXEMPTIONS FROM THIS 24-MONTH
RESTRICTION THROUGH CERTIFICATION PROCEDURES. THE AGENCY IS CHARGED
WITH MONITORING EXPORT RESTRICTIONS AND SPOT CHECKIN RECORDS TO
ASSURE COMPLIANCE.
On behalf of this Federal agency, I certify that
the collection of information encompassed by this request complies
with 5 CFR 1320.9 and the related provisions of 5 CFR
1320.8(b)(3).
