FOR ITS CONTRACTS FOR CONSTRUCTION,
ALTERATION, AND REPAIR OF ITS SHIP THE DEPARTMENT OF COMMERCE
REQUIRES EACH SELECTED CONTRACTOR TO PROCUR AND MAINTAIN INSURANCE
AS SPECIFIED IN THE CAR CLAUSE AT 1352.217-109 "INSURANCE
REQUIREMENTS." THE CLAUSE ALSO REQUIRES THE CONTRACTOR TO SUBMIT
PROOF OF THIS INSURANCE TO THE CONTRACTING OFFICER BEFORE THE WORK
UNDER THE CONTRACT IS AUTHORIZED TO START.
On behalf of this Federal agency, I certify that
the collection of information encompassed by this request complies
with 5 CFR 1320.9 and the related provisions of 5 CFR
1320.8(b)(3).
