Abstract: THE ECI MEASURES THE TREND IN EMPLOYEE COMPENSATION COSTS. THE ECI IS USED TO ANALYZE THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN CHANGES IN PRODUCTION, EMPLOYMENT, OUTPUT PRICES, AND COMPENSATION COSTS. THE SURVEY COVERS THE PRIVATE NONFARM ECONOMY AND STATE AND LOCAL GOVERNMENTS.
