Abstract: THE PROPOSED RULEMAKING WOULD IMPOSE RECORDKEEPING REQUIREMENTS ON MANUFACTURERS AND PROCESSORS THAT EXPORT LEAD- AND ZINC-CONTAINING FISHING SINKERS UNDER 1 INCH IN ANY DIMENSION. THIS IS NECESSARY TO ENSURE THAT THOSE FISHING SINKERS SUBJECT TO THE RULE ARE BEING MANUFACTURED AND PROCESSED SOLELY FOR EXPORT. THE RECORDKEEPING INFORMATION WILL BE USED BY EPA FOR COMPLIANCE PURPOSES.
