Abstract: THE NATIONAL ASSESSMENT OF EDUCATIONAL PROGRESS (NAEP) IS A CONGRESSIONALLY MANDATED DATA COLLECTION OF ASSESSMENT AND BACKGROUND INFORMATION. RESPONDENTS INCLUDE STUDENTS IN THE 4TH, 8TH, AND 12TH GRADES, TEACHERS, SCHOOL ADMINISTRATORS, AND PARENTS. THE 1995/96 ASSESSMENT WILL BE CONDUCTED IN THE FOLLOWING SUBJECTS: MATHEMATICS, READING, AND THE ARTS (DANCE, MUSIC, THEATER, AND VISUAL ARTS).
