Abstract: IF THE RETIREE AND CLAIMANT PRESENTED THEMSELVE AS HUSBAND AND WIFE, BUT WERE NOT LEGALLY MARRIED, THE CLAIMANT FOR ANNUITY PAY MUST STATE THIS FACT. AFAFC LEGAL STAFF MUST RULE ON WHETHER THE COMMON-LAW MARRIAGE WAS RECOGNIZED IN THE STATE THE RETIRE RESIDED IN BEFORE ANY ANNUITY IS PAID.
