Abstract: SECTIONS 515 AND 516 OF PUBLIC LAW 95-87 PROVIDE THAT PERMITTEES CONDUCTING SURFACE MINING OPERATIONS WITH UNDERGROUND MINE ACTIVITIES SHALL MEET APPLICABLE PERFORMANCE STANDARDS OF THE ACT. THE INFORMATION IS USED BY THE REGULATORY AUTHORITY IN MONITORING AND INSPECTING THE OPERATIONS FOR COMPLIANCE WITH THE ACT.
