Abstract: PUBLIC LAW 103-286, DATED AUGUST 1, 1994, PROVIDES FOR POSSIBLE REFUNDS OF HOUSING ASSISTANCE TO INDIVIDUALS WHO HAVE RECEIVED PAYMENTS BECAUSE OF THEIR STATUS AS VICTIMS OF NAZI PERSECUTION. UNTIL APRIL 23, 1993, THE U.S. DEPARTMENT OF HOUSING AND URBAN DEVELOPMENT REQUIRED OWNERS OF ASSISTED HOUSING TO INCLUDE THESE PAYMENTS IN DETERMINING THE AMOUNT OF RENT THAT THE HOUSEHOLD PAYS.
