The FCC is
streamlining the process by which computer equipment manufacturers
can prove that their products comply with the Commission's rules
governing electromagnetic radiation. The FCC should work closely
with the National Institute of Standards and Technology's National
Voluntary Laboratory Accreditation Program (NVLAP) to ensure that
testing laboratories that will be used to certify compliance can be
expeditiously accredited. The FCC will coordinate with the NVLAP
program to ensure that potentially accredited testing laboratories
receive guidance on how to be tested and accredited under the
NVLAP.
