Abstract: The rule will affect approximately 91,425 handlers of universal waste (hazardous waste batteries, certain pesticides, and mercury-containing thermostats). Information will be collected and used by the Agency to ensure that the universal waste is being managed in a manner protective of human health and the environment. This rule represents a savings over compliance with the current RCRA subtitle C requirements.
