Consistent with
procedures for review of customer satisfaction generic clearances
from other agencies (e.g., ED, DOL), NSF shall submit future
requests for individual customer surveys 10 working days prior to
the intended mail-out date. OMB will provide any comments or clear
the individual instrument within that time frame. NSF shall also
ensure that surveys using statistical methods will receive proper
review by agency statistical experts prior to submission for
10-working day review. Last, each survey request shall include a
brief justification that discusses purposes, intended respondents,
and burden estimates, and other information including statistical
methods as appropriate.
