Part of OCRM's statutory mandate under
the Coastal Zone Management Act is to undertake technical
assistance and management-oriented research. Under that authority
and with consultation with its State partners, OCRM is establishing
a data base of economic statistics related to coastal and marine
resources and areas (assets). The data obtained will be used to
increase awareness of the economic importance of our nation's
coastal and marine assets. In particular, OCRM is seeking
information related to coastal and marine tourism and its
importance to State, local, regional, and national
economies.
On behalf of this Federal agency, I certify that
the collection of information encompassed by this request complies
with 5 CFR 1320.9 and the related provisions of 5 CFR
1320.8(b)(3).
