The National Park Service seeks to understand in a systematic and replicable way user patterns and related economic impacts of national scenic and national historic trails. This survey is a 12-18 month test of a methodology prepared by the North Carolina State University to be applied at sites along the Overmountain Victory National Historic Trail in Virginia, Tennessee, North Carolina, and South Carolina.
