Approved as amended by memoranda from the Commission through DOL to OMB of 5/9/95, 5/16/95, 5/23/95, and 5/26/95. The Commission shall strive to achieve a response rate of at least 80 percent for the employer survey, and will achieve the highest possible rate. The Commission shall conduct appropriate non-response follow-up and adjustments, and shall make any adjustments or caveats for non-response explicit in its published reports and analyses. -- In addition, the embedded survey of employees is a non-random survey of leave taking employees reported by their employers. These data will not be generalized to represent the population of leave takers. -- The Commission will forward review copies of its analysis plan and subject areas to be included in the case study component, as well as information on how this component will be integrated into the full evaluation. -- The Commission will provide OMB with advance copies of the section 108 studies as soon as these studies are received by the Commission. -- Qs. 30-32 of the Employer Survey will be represented as responses to hypothetical questions, and treated as such in the analysis.

This survey was designed by the Commission on Leave, a bipartisan body established by Congress. The Commission intends to determine the response by employers to family and medical leave issues, in general, as well as to the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA). An embedded study survey of leave taking employees on Family and Medical Leave issues.
