In the Report and Order and Further
Notice of Proposed Rulemaking in MM Docket No. 93-215, 9 FCC Rcd
4527, 4692 (1994), the Commission delegated to Cable Services
Bureau the authority to conduct cost studies of the cable industry
in order to provide the Commission with the information necessary
for establishing, under certain circumstances, rates based on cost.
General cost studies of the cable industry will be used to provide
information that will help to determine whether any changes should
be made in the Commission's interim framework for cost of service
regulation.
On behalf of this Federal agency, I certify that
the collection of information encompassed by this request complies
with 5 CFR 1320.9 and the related provisions of 5 CFR
1320.8(b)(3).
