Gonococcal Isolate Surveillance Project (GISP) is a national sentinel surveillance system that monitors the trends in antimicrobial susceptibilities of strains of Neisseria gonorrhoeae in the U.S. This data is used to revise CDC's national guidelines for the treatment of gonorrhea infections. The respondents are five regional laboratories and 25 sexually transmitted disease clinics.
