Terms of Clearance: The information collection provisions associated with the NPRM for Powered Industrial Truck Operator Training, 29 CFR 1910.178, are not approved at this time. DOL is examining public comment in response to this NPRM. The preamble to the final rule shall address how the agency has addressed comments related to minimizing the burden of this collection while maximizing its utility. As part of this analysis, DOL shall consider whether requirements remain necessary in the following areas: -- Sec 6(i), regarding refresher training for trained operators who change jobs. -- Sec 4(ii), which calls for an annual evaluation. -- Sec 6(i), regarding the certification of the evaluation, which could be relaced by a simple certification that the operator's skills are satisfactory (a performance standard).
