Terms of Clearance: This ICR is approved as amended and agreed to by the Corps of Engineers. Any questions on race and ethnicity in the surveys will be amended to be consistent with OMB Directive 15. Questions 10-14 and 16 will be dropped from the environmental quality sur- vey. Page 6 of the hazardous materials and waste storage survey will be dropped. Question 1 of the toxic waste facility cleanup survey will be dropped. Questions 2, 3, 14, and 19 will be drop- ped from the flood control (PP) survey. If the Corps finds that burden estimates have changed significantly due to changes in the form, they should revise the burden disclosure statement. In addition, OMB's address shall be taken out of the burden dis- closure statement in all the surveys. If overall burden has changed significantly, the Corps should submit an ICW to adjust the burden hour authorization. In addition, questions 1-4 of the water conservation survey will be dropped. Finally, the Corps should submit revised survey forms for the amended surveys as soon as practical to OMB.

Abstract: The Corps of Engineers uses these surveys for collecting primary information from the public concerning use of and involvement in Corps of Engineers activities. These planning surveys will gather data from the public on flood damage, navigation, the environment, customer satisfaction, and public participation. The information collected hereby will be used for planning, program evaluation, and basic research.
