The purpose of the regulations is to
protect the objectivity with which PHS-funded research is
conducted. The regulations require disclosure of financial
interests related to PHS-funded research by personnel who have
decision-making responsibilities that could affect the outcome of
the research.
On behalf of this Federal agency, I certify that
the collection of information encompassed by this request complies
with 5 CFR 1320.9 and the related provisions of 5 CFR
1320.8(b)(3).
