The goals of the Southern Appalachian Assessment are to facilitate interagency analysis and sharing of information relative to the natural and human resources of the Southern Appalachians. Without understanding public values, planners may not obtain support for natural resources management. The results from this survey will help provide a comprehensive, interagency, ecological, social, and economic data base as a foundation for natural resources management.
