Abstract: Under the Marine Mammal Protection Act Alaskan natives may take marine mammals for subsistence or for creating and selling native handicrafts. Possession of marine mammals so taken is allowed only to natives or registered agents or tanners. The requested information is needed to register the agent or tanner and to monitor activities through reports.
