term of clearance: 1. Should the agency choose to resubmit the
information collection, the agency must include in its
justification a more detailed discussion of the effects of the
program on small business. In particular, the discussion should
focus on measur- ing the benefits of the MEP to small and medium
sized manufactur- ers, the extent to which the manufacturing
extension centers have reached all 381,000 small and medium-sized
manufacturers, and the extent to which this program has enhanced
the competitive ability of these industries represented.

In accordance with the Omnibus Trade
and Competitiveness Act of 1988, 15 U.S.C. 278k and 2781, NIST
seeks to announce the availability of funds for planning and
implementation of manufacturing extension center and related
projects. The purpose of the information collection is to obtain
proposals submitted to specific solicitations. Respondents are
affiliated with not-for-profit organizations which operate these
centers or deliver supporting services.
On behalf of this Federal agency, I certify that
