Abstract: IF AN UNDERGROUND MINE IS SMALL AND REMOTE OR IS OPERATING UNDER SPECIAL MINING CONDITIONS, THE OPERATOR MAY APPLY FOR PERMISSION TO PROVIDE ALTERNATIVE MINE RESCUE CAPABILITY. THE INTENT OF THE REGULATION IS T ESTABLISH THE BEST POSSIBLE RESCUE RESPONSE AVAILABLE UNDER THE CIRCUMSTANCES.
