Abstract: The household survey will produce national estimates for health care use and expenditures and health insurance coverage. Respondents consist of persons living in a nationally representative subsample of households that participated in the 1995 National Health Interview Survey (NHIS). The surveys of medical and health insurance providers will supplement and verify the information given by household respondents.
