The reporting
periodicity of this collection has been revised from
monthly\semiannual to annual. Additionally, the FCC has received a
number of comments and suggestions on improving this collection and
has posted the draft filing manual on its Home Page. The FCC shall
ensure that all documents, whether paper or electronic, carry the
OMB control number, expiration date, and appropriate statements
regarding the requirement for a OMB control number for a collection
to be valid and instructing the public that they are not required
to respond to a collection without this information. Additionally,
the FCC should include the list of International Point Codes
available both in the paper filing manual and on the FCC Home
Page.

The information compiled by the
Commission from the annual circuit status reports will be useful to
current industry members, potential new entrants into the
international telecommunications industry, and the Commission. The
reports will also serve as a data base for determining and
monitoring the payment of annual regulatory fees on active
equivalent 64 Kb/s international circuits. In addition, the
information contained in the reports will allow the Commission to
continue to identify use of facilities as it streamlines its
facilities authorization procedures.
