In the declaratory ruling issued in RM-8181, the Commission requires that local exchange carriers, among other things, notify their customers of the change in status of inmate-only customer premises equipment (CPE). This is necessary to ensure that correctional facility customers are aware of change in regulatory status of inmate-only pay phones.
