Abstract: The Coast Guard is amending certain navigation safety regulations affecting towing vessels. This proposed rule would help assure that the mariner piloting a towing vessel has adequate equipment. Specifically radar, magnetic compass, electronic position fixing devices, swing meters, depth sounders, searchlights, marine charts, publications, and towing gear.
