The attached item addresses provisions in the Telecommunications Act of 1996 that are intended to foster development of competition in the provision of local telephone service. IntraLATA carriers must submit a quarterly list of pay phone ANIs to the interexchange carriers. This will facilitate resolution of disputed ANIs in the per-call compensation context.
