OCRM seeks to determine whether
coastal zone management efforts by the States have contributed to
improved awareness of and concern for coastal resources and their
importance to the national and local economies. In addition, OCRM
seeks to set up a baseline from which to gauge future increases in
support for local management activities. The target audience for
this survey is a limited group of local officials in coastal
jurisdictions. The group of officials includes the primary elected
official, a representative of the planning department or the city
manager, and a representative of the local Chamber of
Commerce.
