Implementation of the Local
Competition Provisions on the Telecommunications Act of 1996 -- CC
Docket No. 96-98, Second Report and Order and Memorandum Opinion
and Order
New
collection (Request for a new OMB Control Number)
OMB has added
$60,000 per year in costs associated with the cost of providing
directory listings on magnetic media. The FCC should also use the
electronic version of the network change report filed with the
Commission to post on an internet homepage site for access by
affected telecommunications service providers. While this is a
recommendation, OMB believes that such a site, if properly
advertised to service providers, would improve their ability to
respond to network changes. The FCC will resubmit this collection
should any of its requirements change in the wake of litigation
involving other aspects of CC Docket 96-98.
