ED proposes to survey local title I directors and representatives of private school organizations in their districts. The purpose of the survey is to determine how changes in chapter 1/title I legislation has affected (1) the number of private school students receiving title I services, (2) consultation between public school and private school administrators, and (3) the educational services provided to private school students. ED will use this information to prepare mandated reports to Congress and to provide effective technical assistance and information to State and local education agencies.
