The purpose of the information
contained in the dealer package is to comply with the U.S.'s
obligations under the Atlantic Tuna Convention Act of 1975 (Act),
16 U.S.C. 971, 50 CFR part 285. This Act requires the Secretary of
Commerce to promulgate regulations adopted by the International
Commission for the Conservation of Atlantic Tunas (ICCAT). As a
member nation of ICCAT, the U.S. is required to take part in the
collection of biological statistics for reseach purposes.
Collection of information through the forms in this dealer package
meets ICCAT requirements.
