this pilot study as amended by the Feb. 21,27,& 28 faxes,
emphasizing that the results of this pilot will only be used to
help select the most appropriate study design, case ascertainment
procedures, and exposure assessment methods for a valid
epidemiologic study. The results of this pilot study will not used
to make generalizations about the U.S. migrant and seasonal
farmworker population. As described in the faxes, NIH will submit a
progress report by September 1999 and a final report by March 2000,
detailing the findings of this pilot study.

Four interrelated feasibility studies
will be performed to help NCI select the most appropriate study
design, case ascertainment procedures, and exposure assessment
methods for a valid epidemiologic study of cancer among migrant and
seasonal farmworkers.
