Confidentiality throughout the duration of this information
collection, synchronizing OMB review to the extent possible.

This surveillance system monitors the
prevalence and incidence of HIV infection among blood donors.
Demographic information for infected donors routinely collected at
the time of donation is compared to donors without HIV infection.
This project makes it possible to monitor trends in HIV
transmission and to assist in the development of donor education
programs.
On behalf of this Federal agency, I certify that
the collection of information encompassed by this request complies

1320.8(b)(3).
