The Notice of Interstate Lien will allow the State child support enforcement (CSE) programs to administratively file liens in other States. This "information collection" is not new in that all States are presently required by Federal law (42 U.S.C. 666(a)(4)) to file liens to secure child support debts. However, what this form will allow is for the CSE agency in the initiating State, typically the State where the custodial parent and child reside, to file liens in other States (i.e., the State where the noncustodial parent rsides or owns property).
