Terms of Clearance: Approval for this Information Collection will not become effective until the effective date of the Final Rule (Amend- ments to the Atlantic Tuna Fisheries Regulations at 50 CFR 630). This Information Collection will need to be resubmitted to OMB for review if the Final Rule contains any changes that substn- tively or materially alter the burden or nature of the Infor- mation Collection The OMB Control Number on the Federal Fisheries Permit Application will need to be changed to reflect this approval. OMB requests that NOAA submit a copy of this form with the appropriate OMB Control Number when the Information Collection is implemented. OMB recommends that NOAA review the data obtained through this Information Collection one year after it becomes effective, and confirm the burden estimates provided in the Information Collection Request. In the event that the actual reporting burden differs from the predicted burden, OMB requests that NOAA submit a revised burden estimate for review.

Abstract: Vessel owners would be required to renew their Atlantic tuna permit annually. Annual renewals are necessary to maintain an accurate (up-to-date) sample frame for the LPS telephone survey, used to monitor tuna landings.
