Terms of Clearance: OMB approves this case study of the efficacy of interactive multimedia in central and western Virginian pre-adolescents, noting that the results are not generalizable to the U.S. population. In addition, NIH is not permitted to give respondents cash payments for participation in the study. If NIH believes that some enticement is necessary to increase the response rate to an acceptable level, NIH may give respondents an in-kind gift (no more than $5-$10 value) before their participation in the study.

Abstract: The information proposed for collection is needed by the NIAAA to determine the efficacy of interactive multimedia for delaying the onset of drinking among 7th, 8th, and 9th grade males and females. This information will be used to assess the cost-effectiveness of interactive multimedia relative to other media and to improve future multimedia programs.
