Terms of Clearance: Approved as amended by ED's memoranda to OMB of 9/8/97 and 9/18/97. In addition, ED has agreed to the following changes in order to improve utility prior to distribution: ED agrees that the student's pin number will appear next to the student's I.D. number at the top of each part of the SAR; ED will, in the context of FAFSA redesign, develop a procedure for providing the student with a summary sheet that reduces the amount of paperwork required under the current system; ED will, in the context of FAFSA redesign, develop a new process by which a student deletes an answer that appears on the information request form or information review form; ED will, in the context of FAFSA redesign, eliminate requests for duplicative data within the SAR; ED agrees that compute edit comment 150 will include a "HERE IS WHAT YOU NEED TO DO NOW" provision; ED agrees that all students will receive an instruction similar to the "HERE IS WHAT YOU NEED TO DO NOW" provision.
