The data collected is required by the
Budget and Planning Service of the National Cemetery System to
prepare annual budget submissions that justify and explain the
program. In addition, it is used by the State Cemetery Grants
Service to encourage States to develop new State veterans
cemeteries, an activity which relieves the Federal Government of a
significant burden, and by NCS in general to respond to inquiries
from Congress, veterans organizations, States, and the general
public.
