Vehicle and engine manufacturers are
required to submit certain reports for emissions defects and
recalls. The defect reports contain data regarding the types of
vehicles or engines, the number and type of defects, and the
effects on emissions and performance. The recall reports must
contain information about the recall and program of the recall. The
Agency uses the reports to monitor compliance by manufactuers. This
ICR includes a new category of nonroad engines (under 50hp diesel
engines).

the collection of information encompassed by this request complies
with 5 CFR 1320.9 and the related provisions of 5 CFR
1320.8(b)(3).
