Abstract: This study will identify current residents of the Gila River Indian Community of Arizona, including place of residence, name, and date of birth of each individual; familial relationships; degree of Indian blood; and tribal heritage. The findings will facilitate current research into the causes of diabetes mellitus in Indians of the southwestern United States, particularly with respect to the genetic determinants of the disease. The respondents are individuals and family members residing on the Indian reservation located in central Arizona.
